Abstract (EN)

Today, the activities of businesses related to occupational health and safety are generally carried out by human resources management. The ability of human resources management to perform these activities duly is one of the most important steps for the protection of employee health and safety. When we examine the literature, there are few studies that deal with human resources management and OHS issues together. The aim of this study is to reveal the effect of the decisions taken, the methods and activities of the human resources management, which can manage its duties and obligations correctly, on the occupational health and safety performance of the business and employees. In the first part of the study, the concepts of occupational health and safety, work accident and occupational disease were examined. In the second part of the research, the concept of human resources management, its characteristics and its relationship with OHS were examined. Finally, in the third part, the effect of the activities of HRM on OHS in the enterprise is analyzed. In this context, a survey was conducted with 152 participants working in the field of human resources and OHS and the results were analyzed with a survey program. According to the results of the research, it is possible to say that the practices and decisions taken by the human resources management regarding OHS in the enterprise affect the employees positively and increase the performance of the enterprise. With this, we can say that the business management attaches the necessary importance to the issues related to OHS and acts in accordance with the legislation.
