Performance evaluation in human resources management and a research for hospitality industry

Xll PERFORMANCE EVALUATION IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND A RESEARCH FOR HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY SUMMARY In our age's management understanding, we face with human resources management function that came into front among basic management functions as a factor of defining successes and unsuccesses of establishments. Quality of workface and level of performance of establishments are one of the important indicators. With this aim performance evaluation study was made in human resources management. Today, with its big importance, ^management have to use contemporary performance evaluation methods beside traditional methods. For all industries, efficiency of performance that plays an important role in organizational decisions like salary management, career management, defining education needs, separation decisions, rotation needs has become a necessary element. Hospitality industry has a sensitive aspect to human resources management because of its labor-intensive aspect. It's main input is human factor. In five star hotels operating in hospitality industry, the performance levels of personnel are related to their jobs. At the some time their performances reflect directly to customers as the quality of services. Because of their structures, five star hotels are depended to the efficiency of their personnel in producing services that have quality. Because of these reasons, in this study performance evaluation decisions in human resources management were examined and by investigating performance evaluation applications in five star hotels operating in Antalya Region, the findings were explained and suggestions were made.
