ABSTRACT: The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between financial development, foreign direct investment, and economic growth in Japan by using time series annual data. Results show that financial sector and foreign direct investment in Japan have a long term and significant impact on economic growth. Real income significantly converges to its long-term equilibrium path through financial sector and foreign direct investment. Furthermore, real income growth also exerts statistically significant and positive impact on financial development in Japan while foreign direct investment does not.
