Abstract (EN)

The internet and digital media are an integral part of today's journalistic practices. With the widespread use of the Internet and the development of digital media, journalistic practices are intensively carried out through these channels. This process, which should be considered within the scope of online journalism, enriches news production and changes the role of the reader. Many publishing organizations and journalists now carry out their news production activities in a fast, up-to-date and interactive manner via the internet and social media applications. Undoubtedly, in this process, readers can easily evaluate and share the news and participate in content production through various social networking platforms. Thus, online journalism practices cover all professional and non-professional journalistic activities that take place over the internet and digital media. Broadcasting organizations and media companies are expected to implement online journalism practices with professional teams and experienced newsrooms. The aim of this study is to reveal how and in which ways the news production process in online newspapers and their Instagram accounts is shaped in line with the characteristics of online journalism. In this context, the most clicked newspapers in Türkiye, hurriyet.com.tr, sozcu.com.tr and ensonhaber.com, as well as the news in the Instagram accounts of these newspapers, between March 1 and March 15, 2024 were evaluated by content analysis method. In this way, evaluations were made on the internet journalism and social media journalism practices of each newspaper, deficiencies in the field were identified and suggestions were developed. At the end of the study, when the websites and Instagram pages of the newspapers were compared, it was determined that there were differences in the sharing, theme, receiving comments, presentation and guidance of the news.
