Abstract (EN)

55 RELATION OF INTRACRANIAL ANEURYSMS WITH FETAL ARTERIAL WALL STRUCTURE SUMMARY This study had been performent in Blacksea Technical University, Medical School, Department of Anatomy between September 1994 and November 1995. Etiologies and reasons of localizition dissimilarities of the intracranial aneurysms had been analyzed in this study. Specimens of carotid system and vertebrobasiler system arteries were obtained from the 24 human fetal cadaver brains who ranged in age from 21,2 to 38,4 weeks. Samples were stained by hematoxylin-eosin method and then tunica media thickness of the artery walls had been measured and smooth muscle fibers of the tunica media had been counted under microscope. Result were not the similar with the literature, in which almost all of them reported that aneurysms located 85-90 % in carotid system and 10-15 % in vertebro-basiler system. Results are also supported the degenerative theory which supports the idea that aneurysms develop with the degenerative changes on the artery wall, and contradicted with the congenital theory which claims that aneurysms develop on the congenital defects in artery.
