Abstract (EN)
Sunshine duration, relative humidity, precipitation and air temperature are measured in most of the meteorological stations in all over the world. However global solar radiation measurements are very rare and some of the data are missing at some time periods for unknown reasons. Therefore, global solar radiation models are required to estimate global solar radiation with high accuracy. In this study, 4 monthly mean daily global solar radiation models and 18 daily global solar radiation models are presented to model global solar radiation based on meteorological parameters in Eastern Mediterranean Region. Different meteorological parameters are used separately and combined together to determine most accurate model. Parametric models and artificial neural networks model are evaluated and the results are compared with each other. In this thesis, two new models are presented and compared with other models available in the literature. Meteorological parameters used to develop models are provided by Turkish State Meteorological Services.
