Abstract (EN)
In this study titled "An Overview of the Western Slope Ceramics Uncovered in the Ionia Region", Ionia Region, where the Western Slope Ceramics are found and named after, the stage of development and the decoration elements have been examined from the published theses and articles . In the first part of the study, the first discovery of the Western Slope Ceramics, why it had named such in the archeology literature, and how and why they were produced were examined. In the second part of the study, the clay, glaze and ornamental elements of locally produced materials were investigated by examining the important centers producing West Slope Ceramics. In the last part of the study, the ancient cities where the Western Slope Pottery was found in the Ionia Region, as far as we can reach from the published articles and theses, the information about clay, glaze, decoration elements and in which workshops that similar potteries were observed were examined and investigated.
