ABSTRACT Master Thesis DESIGNING A HEAT AND FIRE PRECAUTION SYSTEM FOR A MOBILE NETWORK STATION USING IOT: AN APPLICATION EXAMPLE Mehmet Süleyman PİRİNÇÇİ Inonu University Graduate School of Nature and Applied Sciences Department of Computer Engineering 49+IX pages 2022 Supervisor: Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Abdullah Erhan AKKAYA With the increase in mobile communication, the need for base stations in different geographical locations is also increasing. In terms of continuity of communication, it is considered important that the base stations are operational at all times. In this context, keeping the 24/7 service network running continuously is among the indispensables of modern people. It is the duty of the field personnel to keep the base stations physically active and to ensure the continuity of communication. In terms of field personnel, it is a very costly and tiring task to check whether there are any technical malfunctions by constantly visiting the base stations in different geographical locations. In addition, monthly periodic maintenance is carried out. However, in cases such as temperature increase, humidity increase, power failure, fire that may occur in the base stations, after the communication interruption, the field personnel intervenes in the malfunction and makes the station operational. In line with this information, in this study, an early warning system was created that transmits the high temperature alarm from the base station as an instant message to the field personnel by performing Arduino-based temperature monitoring and fire control of a base station. In the system proposed in this study, field personnel can access remote stations without physically going to the base station location, and faults are automatically transmitted to field personnel with an alarm.
