Abstract (EN)
As in almost every stage of life in Iraq, great changes have occurred in the state structure, foreign affairs and decision-making processes after 2003. These major changes in Iraq's foreign policy after 2003 have also affected the studies carried out in this context. So much so that 2003 was a breaking point for Iraq's international relations, as in all other fields, and each of the studies carried out before this period has found its place as a political history study today. In this study, center-periphery relations were analyzed in the context of Wallerstein's Modern World System approach and the position of Iraq in this context was emphasized. Today, Iraq is a periphery state. Especially after the American Occupation in 2003 and the civil war that broke out between 2014 and 2017, the country was pretty worn out. The Iraqi economy is developing within the framework of the oil industry. Concepts such as feeling the weight of a single sector in the country's economy, the country's position as a raw material exporter, and income inequality cause the developments in the center-periphery relationship to be against Iraq. Keywords: Center – Periphery, Iraq, Modern World System, Wallerstein
