Abstract (EN)

Iraqi Turkmenians have a prosperous folklore culture, which is an significant component of the Turkish world. Despite staying away from Turkey for many years, the mother country had its own language and culture. It represents literary genres such as fairy tales, stories, epics, lullabies, folk songs, poetry, etc. in this prosperous culture. Our study, which is the main subject of Elegiac Poetry constitutes an important part of Iraqi Turkmenian literature. This work consists of five chapters, excluding introduction and conclusion. In the first chapter, the definition of elegiac poetry, the tradition of elegiac poetry in the Turkmenians of Turkey and Iraq, sorrow culture and cultural memory were discussed and general information about elegiac poetry was given. In the second chapter, Iraqi Turkmenian elegiac poetry were examined in terms of subject and structure. The third chapter is about the performance of elegiac poetries and information about the environment is given. The 90 elegiac poetry text, which is the subject of review in the fourth chapter, has been classified based on various folklore methods. The fifth chapter consists of two main titles; the first main title covers the elegiac poetries written about individuals and the second main title lists all the texts used in our thesis. The results obtained are presented in the chapter of the conclusion in the form of articles.
