Abstract (EN)
This study covers the fire safety standards implemented to the student dormitories in Turkey. The study addresses the question of how the fire safety sections of the occupational safety legislation related to the student dormitories and student dormitory fires took place in Turkey for the last 5 years. Moreover, the fire safety standards affecting the stages of design, application and usage in the student dormitories are discussed. The thesis expands the range of fire safety criteria and checklists containing the provisions of the National Fire Regulations to increase the usability. The thesis also examines and suggests preliminary precautions on the fire safety of a student dormitory building considering the checklists
