Abstract (EN)

The importance of occupational health and safety is rapidly increasing in both our country and the World. No. 6331 Occupational Health and Safety Law is the first private law about Occupational Health and Safety. With this law, obligations of the employer have increased and all employees have been covered by removing distinction between laborer and officer. The aim of the law is to prevent the occurrence of adverse outcomes. The Law provides several advantages to working life, such as increasing production, productivity, product quality, image and cost yield etc.In this thesis work, recent developments in occupational health and safety area were investigated; views of health workers in occupational health and safety, approaches to work accidents and occupational diseases, and awareness of current developments in this field were evaluated.The survey results revealed that knowledge level of health worker about occupational health and safety is poor and adequate precaution is not taken in this subject. In addition, it showed that many health workers have been exposed to work accidents and occupational diseases. However, it was concluded that health workers don?t have sufficient knowledge about the No. 6331 Law.
