A database focused desicion support system in administration of occupational health and safety processes

Occupational Health and Safety in Turkey is a process that is still evolving; the Law on Occupational Health and Safety (No:6331) was enacted in June 2012, the activities on this issue have accelerated and a cultural structure in which awareness is increasing day by day has begun to be formed. The increasing importance and awareness, the emergence of new approaches to the issue of occupational health and safety, the occurrence of major business accidents in many areas, primarily heavy industry branches, mining and construction sectors, has been influential for the companies that produce in the food sector, with the aim of adapting changing of today's conditions has become one of the basic processes that should be given importance to Occupational Health and Safety. For the companies operating in this sector, the applications of Occupational Health and Safety Management System should be expanded and integration into existing systems should be ensured. In this study; the occupational health and safety processes in a business operating in the food production sector have been examined; disturbed and disrupted aspects of the process have been identified. The aim of the research is to design a database focused decision support system that will be more reliable, easier to register and easier to access and to provide good communication between departments for the management and follow-up of data on occupational health and safety processes in operation. In this study, it is aimed to establish an effective and efficient control and decision making mechanisms for the enterprise by using Ms Access database management system.
