Abstract (EN)

In today's business environment, repetitive and time-consuming business processes faced by businesses can reduce operational efficiency and waste resources. Manual operations and routine tasks can lead to human errors and additional costs within the organization. Moreover, factors such as agility and flexibility are crucial for businesses in an increasingly competitive environment. For example, in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, changing the order date in the system stands out as a frequently encountered, repetitive, and time-consuming process. Such changes are usually performed manually and supported by human resources. However, the intensity and complexity of manual operations reduce the efficiency of this process and make it more prone to errors. The need to allocate separate time and resources for each change negatively affects the operational efficiency of businesses, limiting their ability to gain a competitive advantage and increase profitability. The use of human resources and resources in processes related to order date changes has increased the costs of the business and slowed down operational speed. Additionally, the vulnerability of manual processes to errors has a negative impact on customer satisfaction and logistic operations. The aim of this study is to investigate the efficiency of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in order date changes in a retail company's business processes, along with the impact on support services and cost savings. By comparing existing human resources with robots involved in Robotic Process Automation, cost and time savings will be measured to determine their contribution to business processes. Furthermore, after the transfer of business processes to Robotic Process Automation, gains outside of the business process will be identified. This study also aims to determine whether the sustainability of Robotic Process Automation, along with its contribution to business processes, by strengthening infrastructure and integrated systems, provides benefits when integrated into other business areas. In conclusion, this thesis will provide a comprehensive review and example application to understand the role of RPA in the digital transformation process and determine how businesses can best leverage this technology. By evaluating the impact of RPA on business performance, competitive advantages, and operational efficiency, this study will lay an important foundation for future research and applications.
