Abstract (EN)

The phenomenon of loneliness, which considered as one of the biggest problems caused by the modern world, may appear in workplaces and is not limited to general living conditions. For this reason, loneliness at the workplace might negatively affect life satisfaction and job performance. The purpose of the study was to examine the relations between loneliness at the workplace and job performance; and to determine the intermediary role of life satisfaction in the effect of loneliness at work on job performance. In this context, the data that collected between November and December 2020 from company employees working in the logistics sector in Gemlik District of Bursa provided the support for the hypotheses. Considering the results of the analysis, it was found that there was a negative relation between loneliness at the workplace, life satisfaction, and job performance. However, the mediating role of the life satisfaction between the loneliness at the workplaces and work performance, which is the focus of this study, was supported partially. The theoretical and practical implications of the results were also presented.
