Abstract (EN)
The Main theme of the thesis is the design history of light and the manner in which light is treated as an object in painting. In the introductory part, the problem status, aim, importance and method of the research are mentined and in the first part, the science of light is mentioned. Experiements and theories of optical scientists and thinkers are examined. In this respect, the historical process of physical explanation of light is discussed. In the second chapter, the phenomenon of light in painting is discussed. The sources of light the terms used in the analysis and technical details about the light are explained and random uses of Renaissance, Mannerism, Baroque, Romanticism, Realism, Impressionism, Post Impressionism and 20th Century Art are examined and the use of light is examined. As a result of these analyzes, data were determined in the conclusion section.
