Visual aided package for developing reading and writing skills of the students with hearing impairment in Turkish language: GÖRYAP

The aim of this study is the designing of the visual aided package (GORYAP) which is appropriate for the grammar structure of Turkish language, and which is oriented towards improving the reading and writing skills of the individuals having hearing impairment. The application is designed to assess package was held with 14 students which are studying at 6. 7. 8.classes in hearing impaired primary school. The obtained data was evaluated by the experts of the associated field. Then, the evaluations of the experts were analyzed by the researcher.The results of the research indicate that the visual aided package (GORYAP) prepared by the researcher raised the success rate of Turkish reading and writing skills of the hearing impaired. Teachers working in the schools for the hearing impaired stated clearly that the GORYAP structure could be a fine source when instructing the subject of adjunctions in Turkish language. Moreover, due to the fact that the visual components were highlighted in the research, it was found to be very useful for the education of the hearing impaired by experts. In particular, it was observed that the students apprehended the subject of adjunctions better than ever and that their vocabulary expanded.
