Abstract (EN)
Different characterization methods are available for non-thermal cold plasmas. Among these methods, the most used are optical emission spectrum and Langmuir probe. However, mathematical models are also used extensively in plasma characterization, in which the obtained data can be included. In this thesis, optical emission spectrum and Langmuir probe data were collected from the post-discharge region by creating a low-pressure RF discharge of argon gas. Since the post-discharge region is relatively far from the electric and magnetic fields, but at a point where the post-discharge region cannot be counted, this region is named as the mechanical forced discharge region. The obtained data were used in the particle-in-cell method based on the Monte Carlo simulation method. In this way, particle motion in the plasma environment was sampled. Electron temperature and electron density values were calculated from the optical emission spectra obtained using the software named OPSIAL. The branching fraction values were calculated by using the relative intensity values in the optical emission spectrum. As a result of the study, it was seen that the particle method in the current cell is applicable in the mechanically forced discharge region, and the equation made with relative intensities, which is a quick calculation in branching fraction calculations, can be used. Thus, it has been shown that these methods can be used in similar discharge environments.
