Abstract (EN)
In this study, design of wet-dry cooler and performance analysis is presented. The heat exchanger surface area is calculated by designing heat exchanger according to design temperature of air at the inlet, the inlet and outlet temperature of process water, and flow rate. When the air inlet temperature is higher than desired, fogging with precooling and humidifying system is selected. The performance analysis of the cooler to be used in Batman province according to Batman climate data is evaluated. Consequently, the desired process water outlet temperature is obtained at alltimes. Operating status of cooler, as a 78% dry cooler and as a 22% wet dry cooler on an annual hour has operated. In July, when the fogging system Works the most, the amount of water to evaporate is calculated about 7 l/min and total electric consumption is 5237 kWh.
