Özet (EN)

Supplication, which has been existent from the creation of mankind until our contemporary day, is a means for the Creator to guide his servants, remind them about their impotence whilst acknowledging their dependence on him. In Islam, similar to other divine religions, supplication is a very important form of worship. The Noble Quran, which was sent as a guide for mankind regarding all topics, has vastly emphasized the importance of supplication. When considering supplication as one of Islam's fundementals, the religion's representative Prophet Muhammad's actions and worship have been vastly influenced by it. So how have his followers and those who wish to be true believers approach this fundemental and practice it? The entry "Supplication in Islam" consists of three core components and a conclusion. The introduction explores the research's purpose and significance, whilst presenting evidential proof of the studies conducted and acknowledging its limitations. This study aims to identify and analyze supplication as mentioned in the holy Qur'an, by previous prophets before Islam's arrival, by the beloved prophet Muhammad and respectable Islamic saints and scholars. The study will also discuss intercession within supplication and its significance. This thesis aims to provide a broad and varying literature of supplications, documentation and synthesis'. Key Words: Islam, prayer, supplication, Qur'an, Hadith, Tasavvuf, History of Religions
