Clustering of the health system performance of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation with selected health indicators

Theaim of thisstudy is toclusterandcomparethehealthsystemperformances of themembercountries of theOrganization of IslamicCooperation in 2010 and 2019 accordingtothehealthstatus, healthexpenditures, physicalenvironmentindicatorsandquality of healthcaredata. In thestudy, Wardsmethodfromhierarchicalclusteringmethods, Kmeanclusteringmethodfromnon-hierarchicalclusteringmethodsandEuclideandistance as a distancemeasurewereused. The "Kruskal Wallis H Test" wasconductedtoincreasethereliability of theclusteranalysisandto test thesignificance of healthindicators. Pairwisecomparison test wasperformedtodeterminewhichclusters had a significantdifference. Theresultswereinterpreted on thebasis of Bonferronicorrectedvalues. Of the 17 healthvariablesincluded in theanalysis, 16 weresignificant in dividingcountriesintoclusters. Accordingtohealthindicators, countriesweredividedintothreeclusters in 2010 and 2019. Themostsuccessfulcluster in terms of healthsystemperformance is cluster 2, whichalsoincludesTurkey.
