The impact of a company's social responsibility activities on it's staff : An application on a telecommunication company

The number of tough issues for businesses today has increased as a result of new laws regarding the factors like the greater variety of marketing tools, widening of competition areas, even more conscious customers, bigger influence of non-governmental organizations and unionization. The pressure and monitoring from the society on businesses seeking profit keep rising. Thus, survival for such businesses can be only possible through resorting to certain changes. In today's world, creating something novel is vital for competitive advantage. One of the criteria for being original and different from others is undoubtedly social responsibility spirit in a business. Many corporations hold projects in various fields including education, health and environment and via these projects have a chance to give back to the society. This study aims to assess the attitude and perception of the personnel in a telecommunication company towards its social responsibility projects. For this purpose, a questionnaire study to determine such perception was carried out for a company in our country which operates in communication sector and has social responsibility projects. It can clearly be seen from the results of the study that the personnel of that company has positive perception about the social responsibility projects held by their company. One can also gather from the results that there is no significant differences in perception among the personnel in terms of the variables tested (gender, age, year of experience, position in the company, first experience or not, graduation and working departman).
