İsmail Karagöz's approach to some controversial issues in his work called "The Meaning and Interpretation of the Qur'an"

The Holy Quran has been tried to be understood by its addressees since the moment it was revealed, and as a result of these efforts, various interpretations have emerged and formed the present-day commentary corpus. One of these commentaries is the work called "Meaning and Interpretation of the Quran" written by İsmail Karagöz. This work, together with its interpretations of contemporary life, is an important work that aims to find solutions to today's social issues under the guidance of verses. In our thesis, we have examined "The Meaning and Interpretation of the Quran", one of the commentaries written in Turkey in recent years, from various perspectives. In our study, certain issues in the Quran, which have been the subject of debate throughout history and are still debated today, are discussed. In this context, İsmail Karagöz's app-roach and interpretation style to the traditional and contemporary issues under discus-sion has been tried to be revealed. Karagöz's comments on these issues and the solution suggestions he offered were compared with the approaches of classical and contempo-rary theologians, and then brief evaluations were made. Our study includes analyzes that offer solutions to many issues that have arisen so far. Key Words: Quran, Tafsir, Controversial Topics, İsmail Karagöz
