Life and activities of: Sir İsmail Mahir

The subject of the research is the life and works of İsmail Mahir Efendi, Kastamonu deputy of Party of Union and Progress. His life, educationist character and particularly, works during the period of being deputy are examined in this study. In general sense, it is observed that most of the important historical characters, their works and services are forgotten in due course in Turkish history. Likewise, İsmail Mahir Efendi also has a notable place in history of Kastamonu with his various speeches and proposals in the parliament beside his educationist side. This study is important in terms of understanding the services under the frame of the parliament and systematized opinions of a politician from Kastamonu.
