Abstract (EN)
Calendar is an arrangement of time as dates, weeks, and years. A good many communities have developed their own calendars according to their techniques and interests over the years. Around the World, The Gregorian Calendar and the Islamic Calendar have been used most. While the birth of Christ is accepted as a starting date in Gregorian calendar, the hegira of Mohammed from Mecca to Medina is accepted in İslamic calendar. Also, Islamic Calendar is prepared according to the movements of the moon, while the Gregorian calendar is based on the movements of the sun. This is different in Local calendar, however. In the designation of local calendar, the climatic and economic conditions of the region and depending on these factors the broad experience of the local people are very crucial. It is aimed in this dissertation to analyse the creation of Isparta's Local Calendar and its process. To see the reasons and the results of Isparta's local calendar's creation clearly and present them properly, the compilation method is used in this study. The information which is gathered as a result of this study is stated under the title of "Local Calendar in Isparta Region and Calendric Application".
