Abstract (EN)

Earthquake resistant building design includes the elements that sustain a structure and help to provide load transfer, while also evaluating the relationship of the building with its surroundings and the ground. This requires that the building be prepared by making the right decisions while it is still in the architectural design process. In our country, which is located in the earthquake zone and faced with many earthquakes, there are approximately forty million houses built to meet the need for shelter. In order to be prepared for a possible earthquake, almost half of the structures in question need to be evaluated for risk. Since the majority of existing risky structures are located in Istanbul and the expected earthquake for the city is imminent, the risk assessment must be carried out quickly. In this context, the methods of rapid detection of structures at risk of collapse in earthquakes in the literature were examined in this study. In the light of the information obtained from these methods, an evaluation method that can only be done on the projects of the buildings has been proposed in order to accelerate the detection of risky structures. With this method, the residential buildings on Bağdat Street in Istanbul, which were chosen as a field study, were evaluated.
