Özet (EN)

Implantation emerges as a result of the complicated and sophisticatedinteraction between the human embryo and the uterine endometrium. Diverse cellularmechanisms interfere with this interaction. The implantation event in which manymolecules play role is governed by different genes. NLF2, MFAP2 and MFAP5genes are the genes that are recently being investigated upon. Starting from thispoint, this study aims to compare the gene expressions of endometrial biopsiessampled during late secretory phase from patients who had undergone an IVF cyclewith unsuccessful implantation, and the endometrial expressions of patients who hadat least one healthy living child and had no evidence of poor obstetric history. Todate, no study has reported comparison between the expression of such genes in theaforementioned study groups (ie. Patients undergoing IVF resulting in failedimplantation vs. healthy fertile patients)NLF2 is a gene that is thought to play a role in the inflammatory phase ofendometrial stromal invasion. It may be considered that the siginificantly lower valueof NLF2 in the infertile group compared to the fertile group can explain theimpaired implantation mechanism in those patients. The expressions of MFAP5 and MFAP2 which was previously not studied inendometrial samples before were significantly lower in the infertile group comparedto the healthy control group; this is suggestive of defects in the inflammatoryprocesses necessary for the invasion stage of implantation.
