Theology for Muslims is considered one of the most accurate and dangerous sciences. As every word in it is measured by a finer scale than gold scales, there is no room for error in it as it may lead to disbelief. Therefore any disagreement, small or large, is a matter worthy of study, contemplation and scrutiny. From this basis the comparative studies between denominations and sects along with their differences in their beliefs and statements are among the most important pillars of this knowledge. For this reason the comparative study of each of the Ash'ari and Maturid doctrines was a fundamental and indispensable topic as they are the exclusive representatives of the science of Sunni theology. What is amazing, also, is that neither of them pronounced rulings of disbelief on the other, nor accusations of heresy, as well as not considering these differences outside the scope of the Sunnis. This is a phenomenon that needs, when talking about it, person who enjoys abundant knowledge and deep understanding, which was distinguished by the erudite scholar Muhammad bin Wali bin Rasul al-Qayrashhari al-Izmiri, author of the book " Issues of Difference Between the Ash'ari and Maturids," in which he combined (67) differences between the two schools. Based on this, his book was chosen to be the subject of research in this master's thesis coupled with presenting an analytical study of the differences between Ash'ari and Mâtürîdîsm in light of this valuable book.
