Abstract (EN)
Today, natural dye are becoming increasingly important because many of the synthetic dyes are toxic and carcinogenic. Pigments from bacteria can be used as an alternative to natural dyes. In this study, Violacein-producing Janthinobacterium lividum GK strain was used. The effect of different media, temperature, pH, agitation rate, inoculum amount, incubation time, different carbon and nitrogen sources and NaCl on the production of violacein produced from Janthinobacterium lividum GK strain was investigated. Methanol and ethanol extracts were obtained from violacein under optimum conditions and their antimicrobial and antioxidant activities were investigated. It was determined that Janthinobacterium lividum GK strain produced the optimum violacein in NB medium, at 22 °C and at pH 6,4. Also it was produced in static and 8% inoculum by adding 1% glucose and peptone source. Violacein showed high antibacterial activity against S. aureus, S. epidermidis, B. cereus and E. faecalis. Antioxidant studies showed that the violacein extracts have antioxidant activity In the antioxidant studies, the lowest IC50 concentration in methanol solvent of the methanol extract was found to be 261μg/ml.
