Abstract (EN)

As the need for electrical energy is increasing day by day, researches on electricity production continue. Electricity production methods can be examined under many different headings, but the most comprehensive grouping is electricity generation from renewable and non-renewable energy sources. Our country is rich in geothermal energy, which is included in renewable, clean and sustainable energy sources. Most of these resources are located in the Aegean region. Although our country is rich in resources, there are very few electricity production areas from geothermal resources. In this study, the geothermal power plant (AFJES) of Afyonkarahisar city, which is located in low temperature areas, is discussed. In order to observe the simultaneous working process between the geothermal system and the grid, it was modeled in the MATLAB/Simulink 2019b program. With this study, it is aimed to determine the reactions of the simulated system according to the operating values, and to show the simultaneous operation of the geothermal system and the network by integrating it into the network. In addition, the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system has been mentioned. The EES program was used primarily for the values required for modeling the elements (geothermal well, heat exchanger, turbine, condenser, pump) contained in the Organic Rankine Cycle. In this program, the enthalpy changes (the sum of all kinds of energies stored by matter in its structure) at the inlet and outlet of each element are calculated depending on the temperature and flow rate changes. As a result of these calculations, the block diagrams of each element included in the Geothermal Organic Rankine Cycle system are modeled one by one. The voltage, current, power and frequency values of the geothermal electricity generation system integrated into the grid have been analyzed and interpreted.
