Abstract (EN)

Geothermal energy has many usage areas as obtaining electrical energy, thermal systems, greenhouse and building heating and so on. Most of the geothermal energy potential of our country is in Aydın and the highest temperature geothermal resources are in Manisa. For this reason, one each power plants in both provinces were selected during the research process and the research was focused on two provinces. In this study, the power plants which generating electricity from geothermal energy and the effects of system parameters on performance and the most important parameters affecting the system efficiency such as cooling water flow, cooling water inlet temperature, geothermal fluid inlet temperature and geothermal fluid flow based graphs and tables are investigated. The conversion systems used in these plants, generators, turbines, cooling towers and condensers which are the main equipment of the system are also examined and therefore the effects of electrical energy production performances and system efficiencies of the selected equipments on the installed power were investigated. Obtaining net electricity power, temperature of the cooling area and the importance of parameters that affecting this temperature has been demonstrated. Particularly focusing on the cooling areas of geothermal power plants; Both academic and sectoral studies are required to increase the efficiency of the geothermal power plant by increasing the efficiency of the system and reducing the cost and internal consumption.
