Abstract (EN)

The energy need of countries increases coordinatively according to their increasing population and technological development. For this reason, on the one hand utilizing ways of energy sources that are fossil origin are searched, and on the other hand utilizing ways of renewable energy sources are searched more extensively. When renewable energy sources such as geothermal energy that is an important potential energy source for Turkey is used increasingly, it can provide huge contribution to the economy of the country. Geothermal energy is a clear energy source; therefore, doesn?t cause any pollution. Beside it is used for space heating and greenhouse applications, it is used for of electicity generaction. In this point of view, it can play an important role on the solution of the energy problem in Turkey. In this study, it is aimed to attract notice of the use of geothermal energy in the electricity generation in Simav-Kutahya, which is the one of fifteen most important geothermal fields. In this way, Binary power plants have been designed using the flow rates and temperatures of Simav-Kutahya geothermal fields from the literature. For the calculation that will be used in power plants conception, software is prepared using Delphi programming language. Power plants efficiencies have existed between 6,89-13,48 % in the result of computation. Also in this study, it is mentioned about the application of geothermal energy, its environmental effects and economical aspects in Turkey and in the World. Key words: Binary Cycle, Geothermal Energy, Geothermal Power Plants, Kutahya, Simav.
