Özet (EN)

This study examines one of the most outstanding works of the violin repertoire of Johann Sebastian Bach's BWV 1001 Sonata No.1 for violin solo on the basis of resources. In the first part of the study, the general characteristics of the Baroque period, the composers affecting that period and the innovations that had been provided to music of that period were mentioned. In the second part of the study, the life of Johann Sebastian Bach, the composer, was examined and his music contributions that he got from his life and his education and the process of creating his works were mentioned. In the third part, the sonatas and partitas written for his solo violin were mentioned in general and finally, this part includes the examination of each part of the work with samples as periodic, techinal and structral. With this study, the importance of this work which is indispensable of violin repertoire and should be taken to every violinists repertoire was emphasized. It was aimed that the ones who are examining ora re going to examine the work should get more information and contribute to their interpretations.
