Abstract (EN)
As a result of the '93 War (Ottoman – Russia War), The Ottoman Empire lost large territories and thus, Sultan Abdulhamid II suspended the Ottoman Basic Law and closed the assembly indefinitely. With the closure of the Constitutional Assembly, a secret and organized opposition against the administration emerged and afterwards successive events occurred. In our study, firstly these incidents and the intellectual change, which was the basis for and the opposition, were dealt. In the formation of mentality in the Young Turks, internal motives, actual relations of foreign influences and international thought have been analyzed. In addition; in this movement shaped as opposition against the government, prominent names and disagreements among them were pointed out. The stages of formation of the rebel movement claimed to be carried out on behalf of the nation though it was not a large mass demand, and the main dynamics which had prepared the revolution were dealt. How the Young Turks, who carried out the 1908 Revolution, founded the organization called the Committee of Union and Progress and they were organized in the process from a closed and secret structure to the government administration, and their growth and organization procedures were studied in various aspects. Events and relations which had revealed the secret organization founded by the Young Turks with the aim of readopting the Constitutional Governance were tried to be determined and evaluated. In particular, the political activities and propaganda techniques which the members of the Committee put forward in order to reach to their goals were analysed and their possible impacts on the public opinion were examined. The open and closed political activities shown during the revolution by the Committee of the Union and Progress which was reorganized in 1905 and took on a revolutionary structure, were expressed extensively. Factors which led the revolution of the Young Turks, and the process of revolution were laid stress upon and an evaluation was presented in general context.
