Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to investigate the effects of interval training applied in addition to judo training on the physical and biochemical parameters of athletes. The research group consisted of 24 licensed judo athletes aged between 12 and 17 years (12 males, 12 females). The research group was divided into two groups: a control group (6 males, 6 females) and an experimental group (6 males, 6 females). The research group underwent a high-intensity interval training program in addition to judo training for 3 days a week, 60 minutes per day, for a period of 10 weeks. Blood samples were taken from the research group at the beginning and end of the training to determine liver enzymes (ALT, AST, GGT, ALP, LDH), complete blood count, blood lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL), and hormones (testosterone, growth hormone, cortisol, thyroid hormone) levels. Measurements for back-leg strength, hand grip strength, vertical jump, and ten-meter sprint were taken from the athletes at the beginning and end of the training. The SPSS statistical package program was used for data analysis, and a significance level of p<0.05 was accepted. According to the results obtained, the applied training had a positive effect on the physical profiles of the research group. It was determined that the training resulted in changes in hormone metabolism, blood lipids, and complete blood count values in the athletes. Furthermore, it was observed that the training had a greater impact on the physical profiles, hormone metabolism, blood lipids, and complete blood count values of the athletes in the experimental group compared to those in the control group. In conclusion, interval training applied in addition to judo training positively affected the physical and biochemical parameters of the athletes. Based on this information, we believe that combined training applied to athletes will positively impact their performance.
