Özet (EN)

Geographic and environmental circumstances, the way of life, locality, social circumstances, wars and the political climate, the government, religious beliefs and traditions, culture and economy have all affected dress codes in societies throughout history. When fashion behavioural patterns of the human kind are analyzed from the past onward, it can be seen that fashion has had a significant effect on the creation and change of different cultures. In this context, new approaches to women's clothing arose during the Qajar and Pahlavi eras, which held an important place in the Iranian women's' fashion, as a result of relations with the West. This paper comparatively analyzes the factors from these historical periods that affect the Iranian women's fashion identity. The main goal of this research is to determine the properties as well as the differences of jacket styles from these historical periods based on the observation forms consisting of form, pattern and colour. The research uses the descriptive research method based on the documentative survey model. The research concludes based on findings throughout, with the fact that there are differences in terms of form, pattern and colour between the two historical eras.
