Abstract (EN)
Glass ceiling is an invisible and unbreakable obstacle for women which prevents to reach success in workplace for women by ignoring successes and abilities of women. Glass ceiling is a big challenge for hotel business like other business. Women come across with some prejudgments and behaviors because of their gender and some responsibilities which is given by community. Every obstacle that prevents to reach to upper stage which women come across in workplace because of their gender is called as 'glass ceiling syndrome'. Women in business sometimes can turn to some different strategies to overcome the difficulties that come with 'glass ceiling' or admit the difficulties. Therefore, women who works in a business, may quit her job or can't expend her energy for her job to reach the upper stage. This problem is considered by community as women can't live balanced herself home and work lives but in addition to this negative ideas, some habits and feelings are effective on this eclipse. Also self-awareness, ability to make a decision, motivation, social influence, effects of family and friend areas, psychology or some obstacles which are learnt are effective. Succesful organizations can gain some advantages in competition environment with workers who esteem their job and keep over the organization's benefit over theirselves. In this context, organizational citizenship behavior(voluntarily) are coming into prominence day by day. (Organ,1988) Therefore glass ceiling syndrome is available to give some useful information to redound organizational events and increase the worker's organizational citizenship behavior, to obtain the differences of demographic specialties and to infer by these results. Solutions and ideas are tried to produce for women about existence of glass ceiling syndrome and some settings for workers about their social and work lives by obtaining why women can't find a place in upper stages of their work and obstacles that women come across in their lives. This research on women works in four and five stars hotels in Kuşadası. The aim of this research is to determine the effects of glass ceiling sydrome to organizational citizenship for women. At the end of this research, some differences which are statistically meaningful are determined for the organizational citizenship perspective of women who is exposed to glass Ceiling sydrome; marital status, group of age, department, monthly income, seniority status and working time. There are not statistically meaningful differences between glass Ceiling sydrome and organizational citizenship but some meaningful differences are found,explained and some solutions for them are offered.
