Abstract (EN)
Poverty in its the most basic sense is the deprivation of basic resources necessary for the presence of human beings. Women's poverty is a term that refers to the poverty situations experienced by women and the spread of poverty among women. Women's labor which can be considered in paid and unpaid contexts demonstrates a structure associated with poverty and women's poverty due to their own unique challenges in both situations. This study aims to determine how and in what ways paid and unpaid women labor are affected by the COVID-19 process and to reveal the poverty they experience. In this context, the relationship between women's labor and poverty, the interaction of women's labor and poverty in pandemic conditions and the methods of fighting women's poverty are examined. In the study, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic period on women's poverty were evaluated with economic, social and psychological dimensions. Methods of combating poverty, especially for women, have been evaluated within the framework of the labor market, social aids and women's own ways. Literature review and secondary data were used in the study. As a result, it has been observed that women's poverty is directly affected by the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and indirectly by its social and psychological effects. Additionally, although social aids and practices for the labor market in the world and Türkiye are suitable for the dynamic nature of the COVID-19 process, it is debatable how compensatory they are for women.
