Abstract (EN)

The ability to manage complex processes expected from individuals has led to some changes in business life as well as in daily life in the 21st century. Thanks to the redefined business concept and employee profile, the position and importance of women in business life has also begun to change. However, it is seen that the changes in favour of women have not reached the desired levels. Many social and economic reasons underlying the underrepresentation of women in the profession and position have begun to be investigated by the researchers. This study was conducted to reveal the relationship between attitudes towards female managers and the dark triad and their leadership styles. 335 teachers and administrators across Turkey participated in the study on a voluntary basis. In order to collect data from the participants, four questionnaires were used, namely the personal information form, the Attitude Towards Women Managers, the Dark Triad Scale and the Leadership Styles Scale. The scales were sent to the participants via e-mail. Data were analysed using SPSS 20 package program and JASP. As a result of this study, there were significant differences between the attitudes towards women managers and gender, age, educational status and administrators' gender variables, while no significant difference was found in marital status variable. Furthermore, there were significant differences in favour of the dark triad and those with managerial experience and leadership training; on the other hand, no significant differences were observed in gender, age, marital status and professional seniority variables. While significant differences were obtained between leadership styles and the task at school, the teaching level of the school, administrative experience and administrators' gender variables; no significant difference was found between gender and leadership training. The results of the correlation studies conducted to examine the relationship between the scales revealed that there was a relationship between the attitudes towards female managers and the dark triad and leadership styles. However, no relationship was found between the Dark Triad and the leadership styles. According to the results obtained, it is hoped that new studies will contribute to the literature by conducting new research on different variables related to the attitudes towards women managers, dark triad and leadership styles.
