Abstract (EN)

In the field of management, there are a lot of researches made about leadership that is one of hot topic issues. There searches about leadership show that leadership characteristics generally vary on time, business conditions and gender. A lot of researches at different areas of management science have been made about women managers that are rising to the top management level at working life. The place of women in the business world is a source of inspiration to many studies. The growing population of women employees and managers at business life and the differences of leadership characteristics of women has been the starting point of this study. The literature has reviewed and has been decided to write the thesis under the title of "The Analysis of Leadership Styles of Female Managers in Terms of Demographic Properties and Research at The City of İstanbul". The main purpose of this study whether the leadership characteristics of female managers changes according to demographic conditions and business life conditions. In the first two chapters of this study, management and leadership concept, the profile of female managers, the properties of female managers, the properties and functions of leadership, the factors that determine leadership style and leadership theories are widely explained with convenient substructure to the literature. In the last part, the datas upon to the surveys made with mid-level and top-level female managers in Turkey's heart of business, İstanbul, have analysed and interpreted.
