Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study was to determine the effects of some variables (gender, family type and education level) on the attitude towards violence against women. A total of 25 studies that were suitable for the inclusion criteria were included in the meta-analysis for the gender variable, 6 for the family type variable, and 17 studies for the education level variable by scanning the databases of Thesis Center, PubMed, EBSCOhost, Web of Science, and Google Scholar on the subject. The sampling sizes of the studies included in the study were 10.826 individuals according to the gender variable, 3.793 individuals according to the family type variable, and 7.704 individuals according to the education variable. The Comprehensive Meta-Analysis Ver. 2.2.064 (CMA) program was used in the analyses. As a result of the analysis, it was found that there was no publication bias in the individual studies included in the study in terms of the gender variable. As a result of the analysis made according to the random effects model, it was found that the general effect of gender on the attitude towards violence against women (d= -1.26) was at a high level. When the effect of the study characteristics on study findings was examined, the type of publication, gender of the researcher, region of study, type of scale, and sampling groups were important moderator variables in the meta-analysis in which the gender variable was evaluated. It was also found as a result of the metaregression that the publication year was not an important moderator variable. In the analysis made for the family type variable, it was found that the average general effect sizes of individuals with nuclear family structure were higher than those of extended and fragmented families (47.301). When the effect of the study characteristics on the study findings was examined, the region, scale type, and sample groups where a study was conducted were found to be important moderator variables in the meta-analysis in which the family type variable was evaluated. As a result of the meta regression analyzes made for the publication year, it was found that the publication year was not an important moderator variable for the family type variable. In the analyzes made for the education level variable, it was found that the general effect sizes of the individuals who had primary education level were higher than those who had high school and higher education level (56.935). When the effect of the study characteristics on the study findings was examined, the type of publication, the gender of the researcher, the region where the study was conducted, the type of the scale and the sampling group were found to be important moderator variables in the meta-analysis in which the education level variable was evaluated. As a result of the meta regression analyzes regarding the publication year, it was found that the publication year was an important moderator variable for the education level.
