Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the phenomenon of violence against women in the context of the relationship between faith and morality. The increasing cases of violence against women in societies should be addressed not only as a sociological or legal problem, but also as a religious and moral issue. In this context, the effect of the relationship between the individual's level of faith and moral behavior in preventing violence against women was investigated. The main problem of the study is the possibility of legitimizing or ignoring violence against women as a result of the failure to sufficiently internalize religious values and moral principles in individual and social life. In this context, the aim of the study is to examine the causes of violence against women in light of the principles of faith and morality in the Islamic faith and to suggest solutions within this framework. The qualitative method was used in the study; the subject was examined in depth through literature review, analysis of religious texts and evaluation of various sociological reports and plans. In addition, it was emphasized in the light of selected hadiths and verses that violence against women has no legitimacy grounds in terms of Islam. The findings obtained show that the tendency to violence is low in individuals with high faith and moral awareness. It has been concluded that religious education and moral education shape the behavior of individuals in a positive way and play a role in preventing violence. As a result, not only legal and social regulations but also religious and moral education of individuals are of great importance in combating violence against women. In this context, it is recommended to strengthen faith-moral based value education within religious institutions, education systems and family structure.
