The role of quran courses in the process of religious socialization of women (The case of Kırıkkkale)

In this study, the contribution of the Qur'an Courses to the religious socialization of adult women was revealed by interviewing 24 participants aged between 33 and 60 who attend 12 Qur'an Courses affiliated to Kırıkkale Provincial Mufti. According to the results of the content analysis carried out on the data collected with the qualitative research technique, besides the Qur'an Courses being a non-formal education center where religious education services are provided; The spiritual satisfaction center for adult women has revealed that it is a multi-faceted institution where solutions are sought for family, religious and psychological problems and where counseling services are received. Religious socialization in terms of the basic missions undertaken by the Qur'an Courses; It takes place within the body of collective worship and social activities integrated with religious, national and spiritual contents. These services contribute to the training of individuals who have high social perceptions, integrate with the society, change and develop themselves and their environment with the right behavior patterns. It has been determined that the gains that come to the fore within the scope of "Needs-Focused Religious Education" of the Presidency of Religious Affairs (DIB) and which are among the main objectives of the Qur'an Courses are acquired by the participants. It has been seen those attitudes such as showing a healthy religious and moral development, recognizing the importance of behaving towards oneself and others within the framework of belief, worship and moral integrity, and exhibiting good behaviors reflecting Islamic morality. Qur'an Courses have been an indispensable part of the religious socialization process in terms of adult women's spending quality time in different social environments nourished by religious content.
