Özet (EN)

This study was performed 200 of the 51375 women who were the members club of ladies which one belonging to municipality of Ankara education and cultural directorates branch of family and child services. The purpose of this study was is to determine the information levels of women about the breast cancer and breast self exam, than to establish a training program and to determine to efficacy of training program. The study data were gathered by applying the survey form which is convenient to the literature and involved 23 questions. After completing the survey questions women were included to both theoretical and practical breast exam training program. This training was assessed with last test. Sixty five percent of participants had information about breast self exam and theirs sixty one point two percent used to practice breast self exam. Six point five percent of self breast examiners were certainly sure about their practice, but 62.6% were not. The average score which participants take from before training about breast cancer and self exam practices choices and after training assessment test increased from 8,97±3,6 to 15,72±2,31. It was determined meaningful differences between two average scores of knowledge level before and after training. It is provided women teaching and practicing of breast self exam so as to it is helped they are gained some behaviors which improve health and it is made they conscious of breast cancer which increase in last years is very important.
