Development and spatial analysis of Kâğıthane District

In this thesis, the spatial development of Kâğıthane District has been examined geographically and analyzed accordingly In the first chapter of the study, the physical geography characteristics of Kâğıthane were discussed and evaluated. Geologic and geomorphologic characteristics, climate characteristics, soil characteristics, vegetation and water resources of Kâğıthane were studied in detail. In the second chapter, opinions about the settlement name of Kâğıthane are given and the pre-Ottoman and Ottoman history of Kâğıthane is analyzed. In the third chapter, the population and population characteristics of Kâğıthane are presented by analyzing and interpreting the data obtained from TurkStat. The population of Kâğıthane District, the age and gender structure of the population, the dependency ratio and median age of the population, the population of its neighborhoods, the number of births and deaths, the educational status of the population and migrations are interpreted in line with the data, and the population process of the area is discussed and evaluated in terms of quality and quantity. In the fourth chapter, the economic functions in Kâğıthane District are analyzed with their types. In this context, economic and social functions in the district are explained in the historical process within the scope of human-space relationship. In the fifth chapter, the spatial development and analysis of Kâğıthane, land use and changes in land use over time, deindustrialization process in the region and urban transformation are examined at the neighborhood scale and in general. In addition, information on the number of housing units and building qualities in Kâğıthane is provided. In the sixth chapter, conclusions and recommendations are presented from a geographical perspective and evaluations are made.
