Contextual analysis of verses related to the creation of the universe, which are subject to scientific interpretation

The verses of the Qur'ān have been tried to be understood and interpreted with various methods and methods and from different perspectives throughout the historical process. The main aim of the commentators and scholars who deal with the Qur'ān is to understand the Qur'ān and to present it to the audience in the best way they can understand. The efforts of commentators to understand and interpret the Qur'ān have paved the way for the emergence of many schools of tafsir. One of the emerging schools of interpretation is the scientific school of interpretation. The scientific school of interpretation examines the Qur'ān in terms of whether an inference containing scientific data can be made from the verses. In the study, it was tried to determine whether the verses of the Qur'ān point to scientific data, whether the verses associated with the creation of the universe have scientific aspects, and whether the relevant verses are interpreted in accordance with their context. We believe that it is very important not to go out of context in the interpretation of the verses in terms of reaching the authentic meaning and determining the purpose correctly. The study consists of three parts, including the introduction. In the first part, the importance, purpose, limits and method of the research are emphasized and the sources related to the study are evaluated. In the second part, the definition of scientific exegesis, the historical course of the scientific exegesis movement, the opinions of those who defend the necessity of this exegesis movement and those who oppose and criticize the understanding of scientific exegesis, and the relationship of the Qur'ān with scientific exegesis in terms of content and style are examined. It has been tried to explain what context means, which is necessary to preserve the integrity of meaning in the texts, and the types of context have been emphasized and the importance of context in understanding the purpose of the Qur'ānic verses has been emphasized. In the third part of the study, the verses regarding the creation of the universe, which are the subject of scientific commentary, were identified and the comments made about these verses in both classical commentaries and commentaries written up to the present day were examined. In addition, in order to reach the context of the verses, the commentaries of the companions and Tābiūn periods were consulted. The explanations of the companions and the tābiūn about these verses, which are the subject of scientific interpretation, were compared with the explanations of later period commentators. In short, it has been tried to reveal whether the verses related to the creation of the universe, which are the subject of scientific exegesis, are understood in accordance with their original intentions and without being detached from their context.
