Abstract (EN)
Development and fair distribution of income are the two most basic goals that are tried to be realized in terms of economics. The members of the society are trying to increase their income from the past to the present and they are trying to get the maximum share from the total income. The development levels of countries directly affect the national income and the rate of increase in national income. While economic growth takes place, an increase in welfare is not observed in all areas of society. As a matter of fact, in a society where development takes place, all citizens of the country benefit from the increase in welfare. Income inequality has become the problem of many countries in the 21st century. Inequality in income distribution is a concept that is closely related to not only economic but also social peace. The more intensive the production in Turkey's development and the provision of income equality, the employment of the working population of the society and their income generation will contribute to the welfare of the country while minimizing income inequality. Income inequality has been a continuing problem since the early ages of the Republic of Turkey. The development problem was seen as an increase in production. For this reason, the problem of development and income inequality was not taken into account together. The first study on income distribution in Turkey was made in 1963. However, it was not realized that the inequality of income distribution constitutes an obstacle to development. The study is in the form of a literature review, and comments were made by associating the data with each other.
