Determining of anxiety-depression levels and quality of life in patients with heart failure and their caregivers

This analytic research is planned to utilize the anxiety-depression levels of patients who have hearth failure and caregivers, to examine relations of them and to find factors which effect them. The research is made with 150 caregivers and 150 patients who had the heart failure and came the cardiology polyclinic and clinic of The Akdeniz University Hospital and accepted to added the research. The datas include forms which are filled up by the patients and caregivers. The Patient Information Form, the Caregiver Information Form, the SF-36 Quality Of Life Scale and the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale are used to obtain datas.The SPSS-11 Statistics Packet Programme is used to the evaluation of datas. The Stepwise Method and Multiple Regration Analysis is made for the SF-36 Quality Of Life Scale and the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale. The coleration tests are made to measure the SF-36 Quality Of Life Scale and the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale?s releationship.According to the results which obtained from the research the quality of life of the patients and caregivers are lower than average and the anxiety depression of them is higher than average. Age, health, education, number of day in hospital, sex, another chronic disease, edema, immobilization, cheast pain, insomnia and dispne effect the quality of life and anxiety-depression levels of the patients. On the other hand age, sex, health, education, information about disease, responsibility in the family and stress which is lived with patient at home effect the quality of life of the caregivers. It is found that there are meaningful results between the quality of life and the anxiety depression levels.
