Cameroon's international partnerships: Examples of Türkiye, Israel and Germany

"Cameroon's International Partnerships: Examples of Türkiye, Israel and Germany" In international relations, bilateral and multilateral relations can develop in different ways according to the vision and needs of the actors. In parallel with the existence of concepts originating from the security factor such as alliance and coalition, partnerships that also include security cooperation, but which are more comprehensive than an alliance, stand before us as an important form of relationship in the development of multifaceted relations between states. The partnership relationship, in which development cooperation comes to the fore along with political and economic fields, is a relationship where the principle of equals becomes mandatory rather than being unilateral, and the more comprehensive version of this is strategic partnership. Many actors, strong or weak, attach importance to these types of relationships to increase their effectiveness. The African continent is also a geography where a transition from the understanding of development assistance to development cooperation for developed and emerging actors, from the dimension of purely diplomatic relations to the dimension of partnership, which envisages convergence in different fields, and even to the dimension of strategic partnership with some continental countries. Continental countries, which aim to get rid of their colonial past and continue their existence independently and to be more effective both regionally and internationally, first put forward various development visions in order to achieve this. However, due to their weak economies and insufficient capacities, most states want to overcome this handicap by making development cooperation with the more developed states and to make their country prosperous by establishing partnerships. As a matter of fact, in this study, which is based on the understanding of partnership and cooperation, partnership and development cooperation relations are discussed on a country basis rather than the continent-wide approach. In this sense, the relations of Cameroon, which is a Central African country, with Türkiye, Germany and Israel within the scope of its international partnerships, based on its current political, economic, development and future vision, are discussed in terms of political, economic and development cooperation. At the end of the study, in which all three relevant actors were handled separately, a comparison was made and then the study was concluded with the relevant results, discussion and suggestions.
