Abstract (EN)

Government sector has ability to influence many economic and social variables through education, infrastructure, health and defense expenditures. This study explores the causal relationship amongst government education and health expenditures, government size, and sustainable development in the sample of BRICS countries during the 2000-2021 period by means of causality test. The results of the causality analysis uncover a two-way relationship between government health expenditures and sustainable development, but insignificant causal nexus among government education expenditures, government size, and sustainable development.
